Adding a Channel
- How to navigate to the Channels page and start adding a channel

- The general setup flow that applies to every channel type
Adding a new integration connects AutoTalk to a messaging platform so that incoming and outgoing messages flow through your Inbox. The process follows the same general pattern regardless of which platform you choose.
Step-by-step: Adding a new channel
1. Open the Channels page
In the sidebar, go to Integrations > Channels. You will land on the Channels list page. This page shows all of your existing channels and provides several toolbar actions:
- Actions menu — Contains Mass update and Mass delete for editing or removing multiple channels at once
- Filter (with a badge showing active filter count) — Narrow down the channel list
- Add (the + icon) — Create a new channel
2. Add a channel
Click the + button in the upper-right area of the page. This opens the New channel page.
3. Select a channel type
The New channel page presents the channel types as a grid of tiles, grouped by category. Pick one of these ten types:
- WhatsApp Web — Connect a WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code
- WhatsApp API (Oficial) — Connect via the official WhatsApp Business API from Meta
- Evolution API — Connect WhatsApp through a self-hosted Evolution API instance
- Instagram Business — Connect your Instagram Business account for Direct Messages
- Meta — Connect your Meta account and bring its Pages, WhatsApp, and Instagram in at once
- Telegram — Connect a Telegram bot using a bot token
- Discord — Connect a Discord bot to your server
- Twitch — Connect a Twitch broadcaster account and a bot account for live chat
- IRC — Connect any IRC server, or Twitch chat via the IRC preset
- AutoChat — Set up a web chat widget for your website
4. Fill in the configuration fields
After you pick a channel type, the configuration fields for it appear. These fields vary by channel type. For example, Telegram asks for a bot token, WhatsApp Web shows a QR code to scan, and Twitch opens OAuth to connect the broadcaster account first and the bot account second.
5. Save the channel
Once all required fields are filled in, save the channel. It will appear in your Channels list and begin receiving messages as soon as the connection is established.
Managing existing channels
From the Channels list page, you can:
- Click on any channel to open its detail view and edit its configuration
- Use the Actions menu (Mass update / Mass delete) to change or remove multiple channels at once
- Use Filter to find specific channels when your list grows large
- Remove a channel when you no longer need it
Channel status
Each channel in the list displays a status that tells you whether it is active and processing messages, or if it requires attention due to a disconnection or configuration issue.
After adding a channel, send yourself a test message through the connected platform to confirm that it appears in your AutoTalk Inbox.
