Adding an Integration

What you'll learn
  • How to navigate to the Channels page and start adding a channel
  • What the channel type selector offers
  • The general setup flow that applies to every channel type

Adding a new integration connects AutoTalk to a messaging platform so that incoming and outgoing messages flow through your Inbox. The process follows the same general pattern regardless of which platform you choose.

Step-by-step: Adding a new channel

1. Open the Channels page

In the sidebar, go to Integrações > Canais. You will land on the Canais (Channels) list page. This page shows all of your existing channels and provides several toolbar actions:

  • Back — Return to the previous page
  • Bulk Update — Update multiple channels at once
  • Filter (with a badge showing active filter count) — Narrow down the channel list
  • Adicionar canal (Add channel) — Create a new channel

2. Click "Adicionar canal"

Click the Adicionar canal button in the upper-right area of the page. This opens the Add Channel form.

3. Select a channel type

The first field on the form is a channel type selector dropdown. It contains seven options:

  1. Whatsapp QRCode — Connect a WhatsApp number by scanning a QR code
  2. WhatsApp API (Oficial) — Connect via the official WhatsApp Business API from Meta
  3. Instagram Business — Connect your Instagram Business account for Direct Messages
  4. Meta — Connect a Facebook Page for Messenger conversations
  5. Telegram — Connect a Telegram bot using a bot token
  6. Evolution API — Connect WhatsApp through a self-hosted Evolution API instance
  7. AutoChat — Set up a built-in web chat widget for your website

4. Fill in the configuration fields

After you select a channel type, additional configuration fields appear below the dropdown. These fields vary by channel type. For example, Telegram asks for a bot token, while WhatsApp QR Code shows a QR code to scan. Each channel-specific guide in this section explains what those fields are.

5. Save the channel

Once all required fields are filled in, save the channel. It will appear in your Channels list and begin receiving messages as soon as the connection is established.

Managing existing channels

From the Canais list page, you can:

  • Click on any channel to open its detail view and edit its configuration
  • Use Bulk Update to change settings across multiple channels at once
  • Use Filter to find specific channels when your list grows large
  • Remove a channel when you no longer need it

Channel status

Each channel in the list displays a status that tells you whether it is active and processing messages, or if it requires attention due to a disconnection or configuration issue.

tip

After adding a channel, send yourself a test message through the connected platform to confirm that it appears in your AutoTalk Inbox. This quick check can save time before you go live with customers.
