Facebook Page (Meta)
What you'll learn
- How to connect your Facebook Page to AutoTalk for Messenger conversations
- What prerequisites are needed
- How Facebook Messenger messages are handled in your Inbox
The Meta channel type connects AutoTalk to your Facebook Page so that Messenger conversations with customers appear in your Inbox. You can reply from AutoTalk, and your responses are delivered through Facebook Messenger.
When to use this channel
- Your customers contact you through your Facebook Page's Messenger
- You want to consolidate Facebook Messenger alongside other channels in a single Inbox
- You want to use AI agents to automatically handle common questions from Facebook
Prerequisites
Before setting up this channel, make sure you have:
- A Facebook Page for your business
- Admin access to that Facebook Page
- A Meta Business account at business.facebook.com
- Messaging enabled on your Facebook Page (in Page Settings, ensure "Allow people to contact my Page privately" is turned on)
Setting up the connection
- In the sidebar, go to Integrações > Canais to open the Channels list.
- Click the Adicionar canal (Add channel) button.
- In the channel type dropdown, select Meta.
- Additional configuration fields will appear. You may be prompted to log in with your Facebook account and authorize access.
- Select the Facebook Page you want to connect.
- Grant the required permissions so AutoTalk can read and send Messenger messages on behalf of your Page.
- Save the channel.
Once connected, any Messenger conversation initiated with your Facebook Page will appear in your AutoTalk Inbox.
Supported features
- Text messages — Send and receive text conversations
- Images and files — Share photos, documents, and other media through Messenger
- Automated responses — Connect an AI agent to reply to common questions automatically
- Quick replies — Use structured response options when supported
Important considerations
- Make sure your Facebook Page's messaging is enabled. Go to your Facebook Page, then Settings > Messaging, and confirm that private messaging is turned on.
- You need Admin access to the Page. Editor or Moderator roles are not sufficient for connecting the integration.
- If you manage multiple Facebook Pages, you can connect each one as a separate channel in AutoTalk.
tip
If you also have an Instagram Business account linked to the same Facebook Page, consider connecting both the Meta and Instagram Business channels so all conversations from both platforms are unified in your Inbox.
