Assigning Services to Employees
- How services and employees are linked together
- Why assigning services to employees matters for scheduling
- How to manage which employees perform which services
In AutoTalk, services are linked to employees. This relationship determines which team members can perform which services, and it directly affects how the calendar, booking page, and AI agent present availability to customers.
Why service assignments matter
When a customer wants to book an appointment for a specific service, the system needs to know which employees are qualified to provide it. Service assignments make this possible:
- Calendar -- When creating an event and selecting a service, only employees assigned to that service will appear as available providers.
- AI Agent -- The chatbot checks service assignments to show correct employee availability when helping customers book.
- Scheduling page -- On the public booking page, customers see which employees they can choose for each service.
Without proper assignments, the system cannot accurately match customers with the right team members.
How to assign services
Services are connected to employees through the employee's profile. Because services are managed under Profissional > Servicos and employee settings live under Profissional > Configuracoes, the link between them is established when you configure either the service or the employee.
From the employee side
- Navigate to the employee settings at Profissional > Configuracoes.
- Look for the section that lists which services the employee provides.
- Select or deselect services as appropriate.
- Save your changes.
From the service side
- Go to Profissional > Servicos and open a service.
- If the service form includes an employee assignment section, add or remove employees there.
- Save your changes.
Best practices
- Assign all relevant services -- If an employee can perform every service your business offers, make sure all services are assigned to them so the scheduling system shows full availability.
- Specialize when needed -- If certain employees only handle specific services (e.g., one stylist does only coloring while another does cuts), assign only those specific services to keep booking accurate.
- Review after adding new services -- Whenever you create a new service, remember to assign it to the appropriate employees so it becomes bookable right away.
If you have just one employee (a solo business), assigning all services to that employee ensures customers can book any service at any available time slot.
