Stripe Checkout

What you'll learn
  • How AutoTalk processes payments through Stripe
  • What happens when you upgrade your plan
  • How to manage your payment method through subscription settings

AutoTalk uses Stripe as its payment processor. Stripe is a widely trusted platform that handles millions of transactions worldwide, ensuring your payment details are secure and your billing runs smoothly.

How payments work

All subscription payments in AutoTalk are processed through Stripe. You never enter credit card details directly into the AutoTalk interface. Instead, when a payment is required, you are securely redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page.

When you upgrade your plan

  1. On the Billing page, click "Fazer upgrade" (Upgrade) next to your current plan name.
  2. Select the plan you want to upgrade to.
  3. You are redirected to Stripe Checkout, a secure payment page hosted by Stripe.
  4. Enter your payment details (credit card, debit card, or other accepted methods).
  5. Confirm the payment.
  6. You are redirected back to AutoTalk, and your new plan is active immediately.

Recurring payments

Once you have completed checkout and your subscription is active, Stripe automatically charges your payment method at the start of each billing cycle. You do not need to manually pay each month. Invoices for each charge appear in the Faturas (Invoices) section of your Billing page.

Managing your payment method

To update your credit card, change your billing details, or manage other payment settings:

  1. Navigate to Faturamento (Billing) in the sidebar.
  2. In the Subscription section, click the "Configuracoes de Assinatura" (Subscription Settings) button.
  3. You will be taken to the Stripe Customer Portal, a secure page where you can:
    • Update your credit or debit card
    • Change your billing address
    • View upcoming invoices
    • Cancel or modify your subscription

All changes made in the Stripe Customer Portal are reflected in AutoTalk automatically.

Handling payment failures

If a payment fails (for example, due to an expired card or insufficient funds):

  • Stripe will attempt to retry the payment automatically over several days.
  • You will receive an email notification from Stripe about the failed payment.
  • Your subscription status on the Billing page may change to indicate the payment issue.
  • To resolve it, go to Subscription Settings and update your payment method.
  • Once a valid payment method is on file, Stripe will process the outstanding charge.

If the payment issue is not resolved within the retry period, your subscription may be suspended or cancelled.

Security and privacy

  • All payment data is handled entirely by Stripe. AutoTalk never stores your full credit card number.
  • Stripe is PCI DSS Level 1 certified, the highest level of security certification in the payment industry.
  • Your connection to Stripe is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
tip

Before your credit card's expiration date, update your payment method in Subscription Settings to avoid any interruption to your service. You can do this at any time without affecting your current billing cycle.
